Whats the best intel motherboard for high performance?

im building a new pc, but im just not sure what motherboard to go for. I plan to put in a duad core or a duad core extreme in it and hope to be able to use DDR3 ram. whats the best choice? I dont mind paying much as it will be the backbone of the PC
