All Around the World by Red Hot Chili Peppers?

Is it just me, or does it seem that it's a song that could have been completely amazing, but then just failed? I love the opening riff, but then it goes really soft, and then gets joined by what I think is some awful singing. Anyone else wish they would have gone heavier, like the intro is?
