Why would he be ok with being intimate with me but not kissing me anymore?

It would sound to me that he was trying to distance himself and I would take a break from him. We kiss relatives, friends and sometimes people we shouldn't but to go from kissing and being intimate to not kissing at all would be a very bad sign that this is not a relationship to be in, at least in my mind.
