Hair Highlighting?

I'm getting my hair highlighted tommorow, and my hair has a lot of product buildup. I know natural scalp oils will protect my hair, but buildup will interfere with the process. Should I shampoo with a clarifying shampoo now? Or does the salon wash and dry the hair before coloring?
