Help finding a place to surrender my German Shepherd?

Due to physical and verbal violence in my current home, we are being forced to move. Because of the violence, we really don't have the time to be picky about where we move to. Thankfully, we did find an apartment that was willing to take us NOW. The only problem is, they only accept dogs 25 pounds and under. That's about a quarter the size of my German Shepherd. I cannot relinquish him to the pound. I rescued him from there, and just do not see that as an option. Unfortunately, all the GSD rescue places are only looking for purebreds (which mine is not). I don't know anyone who is capable of taking him. Does anyone know a place I could safely, and without worry, surrender my dog?
